Causes of Royal Massacre|sagarmatha tv exclusive

Former Crown Prince Paras Shah says the June 2001 Royal Massacre was a consequence of “various reasons”, not spontaneous. Speaking exclusively to Pramod Sedhain of Sagarmatha Television, Shah recounted that some of the reasons behind the massacre were the commission deal in the purchase of arms and weapons, “bad schooling” of then Crown Prince Dipendra, influence of some “self-centered and ego-centric” elements inside the Palace, and “influence” of Shakespeare’s Hamlet drama on Dipendra, among others. Shah expressed the suspicion that the whole plot was planned and designed during Dipendra’s army training at Kharipati, Bhaktapur.

Nepal films quite often come under criticism owing to their low-grade quality. They have also not remained aloof controversies. The latest (short) blue films involving cine artistes Namrata Shrestha and Puja Lama have exposed the anomalies of the Nepali cine sector. Involvement of popular film heroines in sexual activities and blue-films has not only worsened the film-industry as a whole but has also undermined the social values. Such activities are even against the Nepalese law. This report focuses on involvement of several female cine-artistes in such activities
